STREETWEAR: NEW WORK OPPORTUNITIES FOR VISUAL DESIGNER.

Streetwear is taking a very important turn in the fashion world. I'm very passionate about this world, because streetwear comes from the creation of unique garments like t shirts and Hoodies can be initially opened the door to new job opportunities for the world of visual design. Garments like t shirts and Hoodies for a Visual designer are like canvases for a painter who expresses his own creativity. Nowadays, to create a successful streetwear brand in my opinion, it is the concept that must be innovative with features that arouse interest in the customer, the visual identity that must be immediately recognizable with respect to its reference competitors and the research regarding materials such as fabric for garments, labels and packaging.

My inspirational model for streetwear is Virgil Abloh through the creation of OFF-White. Off-White is the brand that has given a twist to the world of streetwear by creating a category of its own, that is in the gray area between high fashion and traditional streetwear, I would call it luxury streetwear. Off-White is a brand that has begun through the creation of garments like t shirts and sweatshirts but has now evolved to 360 degrees through the creation of any type of garment that goes from accessories, shoes and jackets. The visual identity for example of Off-white is immediately recognizable by the black and white lines on the garments that lead back to the street through the inspiration taken by the graphics of the crosswalk.
In 2019 there are several streetwear brands that are having incredible success like Marcelo Burlon, Palm Angels, Heron Preston, Supreme and Patta. In the near future I would like to have a working experience in this field and who knows probably I’m going to launch my own streetwear brand.
